Goodtime4Wheelers Fall Crawl

Postby Thew_077 » Tue Jul 31, 2007 3:01 pm

Oct 6th at the Humps. Few new rules for this year, and some changes in the corse. Details can be found on our site http://www.gt4w.net/phpBB2/index.php in the Fall Crawl section.

Hope to see everyone out there.

Thanks

Matt

Guess I must be missing something here. I am not seeing where or when this event is taking place. I read that I need bigger tires, However I might be interested in attending if I can figure out where the event is. Valley is not a large town BUT....

Please help a blind old man out.

This event takes place on private property in Kirkman, IA. It is not too far from Omaha to the NE I believe.

They tend to begin registering people some time around 10am and try to get things kicked off around 11am if I remember correctly. (Do not quote me on this). There has been food there in the past. It really does run ALL day. I have been to watch 2 of the past 3 years. Definitely action there!

From what is sounds like the people running their "jeeps" seem to have heavily modified vehicles...would this be correct? Are there things that us little guys (i.e. daily drivers) can run?

I honestly would say not really, but it depends on how partial you are to your paint. There have been some locked cj's yj's and tj's on 33-35's that have done the crawl, but they have to be rough on things to do it. I have also seen some Cherokees that have done fairly well.

I am not willing, yet, to put my new Jeep through this abuse. I have not been wheeling with it long enough to abuse it for a comp yet. I will try to go and watch though.

One of the entrants for the Top Truck Challenge 07' earned 2nd place in this event this past year. I believe he came in 3rd at TTC 07'.

I recommend that you guys go and check it out this year.

The two classes are up to a 38" tire and then 39" and up. It is an awsome show, if you go to the main page of our site there is a short video from two years ago that will give you an idea of the event. I wouldn't recomend Daily Drivers enter, but it has been done, we have had guys drive from South Dakota wheel the event and drive home. So it is up to you but from personal experiance I would bring a trailer. :)

Great pics! Thanks for the little report. I was wondering how it went.

By the way, that last pic is of Mike from the Tire Factory on 36th and Q street in Omaha. You guys should look his way for tire assistance.

Yeah they had one hell of a rig. Alot of time put into it. I was amaized on the amount of time that must of gone into that rig. It was a real cool event and the trucks are a testimate to all those guys abilities.

I didn't even realize that was the Tire Factory from Omaha. It just never clicked.
